Why ShinoHana?

I ()  have written down my reasons on why I love ShinoHana so much and here it is! (I also posted it in the ShinoHana-forums on Narutofan: forums.narutofan.com/showthrea… and in my own journal: jyukai-koudan.deviantart.com/j…)

Remember that Hana only appeared in like 5 panels, so we know just a little about her. She did appear in the 2nd Databook though. Still, some of the things being said are assumptions on her personality. I apologize for my English, for it isn’t my native language.

*So another random crack pairing right?
Well, yes I got to agree with that. But this pairing makes sense! Read my words and just think about it.
My love for this pairing started like 3 years ago. At that time I didn't multiship. I was thinking who to pair up all the Naruto-characters with, because I had nothing better to do. Kishimoto hinted at a few possible pairings. AsuKure, NaruSaku, HinaNaru, SakuSasu, InoChou, InoSai, ShikaIno, ShikaTema, LeeSaku, TenLee, NejiTen, KibaHina etc. I’m not going to elaborate on the given hints for these pairings, but all of them got at least one panel that indicates that at least one of them cares for the other (whether this is love or friendship).

Shino though has not been shown of caring for someone else in a way that indicates a crush. Some might say ShinoHina, (most hints being in the filler-episodes), but I think if Hinata is rejected by Naruto, Kiba makes a bigger chance in gaining her love (for he is seen caring for her too). Of course Shino is still a likely possibility. But I looked beyond the possibility of that pairing.
As being said for me Hinata (Naruto, Kiba), Sakura (Sasuke, Naruto, Lee), Ino (Sai, Shika or Chouji) and Tenten (Lee, Neji). Now than who’s left?

First of all there’s the possibility he ends up with a random character. That makes sense. Shino is a (minor) side character, so there’s no need to pair him up with a significant character. But if we look at the female characters Kishimoto already has created we could also pick one of those. Female I say, for I don’t think Shino is gay. (Although I like KibaShino and NejiShino as well)
Many female characters are too old for him, or are out of his reach. Like Tsunade, Shizune and Anko who are like 30 years and older. And he has never met people like Tayuya and Karin. But I’m sure Shino met Hana due to Kiba.

*Hana is also older than him, by 5 years!
That’s right, but don’t forget that Temari is 3 years older than Shikamaru and that's a quite popular pairing. And Shino is one of the most mature of Naruto’s generation. He may not relate to his peers and might look out for someone older than him.

However for me it’s okay for Shino to have some kind of crush on Hana, but I only like to see them being a pair when Shino has reached adult-age.

*So anyway, ShinoHana. Why?
They’re different, yet they have many similarities. First of all, they both use animal counterparts, if you count bugs as animals. They understand the importance of their respective partners, because they both have them. They would never demand each other to choose between the bugs/dogs and their love.

As for their clans, the Aburame are calm and collected, whereas an Inuzuka is tough and outgoing. However in the databook it is said that unlike the rest of her family Hana has a calm personality. So she probably won’t bother Shino the way Kiba does, but I think she’s outgoing enough to draw Shino out of his shell. Shino is also a bit dominant, but knowing her background that won't push over Hana. She will stand firm if needed.

*But why/when would they be attracted to each other?
As I said before, I like Shino having a childhood crush on Hana.

I once wrote an oneshot about Shino meeting Hana on the schoolyard (www.fanfiction.net/s/2660373/1…) and Avonnalay-Ariemay also added a similar scene to her story (www.fanfiction.net/s/3128560/1…). In both stories Shino is an insecure little boy, who’s being ignored and feared by others because of his bugs.
He meets Hana who’s there to pick up Kiba. Shino’s very surprised that someone talks to him like a normal person, being aware of his bugs. She isn’t scarred at all and respects him.
Hana would do that. She is part of an animal-clan herself and she doesn’t seem to be the kind of person to be scared of something easily. So I don’t think she will be grossed out by the insects.

If they would meet a different time in their lives, it would still be likely that Shino looks up to her, because she will probably overlook the creatures inhabitating him. Perhaps he will develop some kind of crush for her. And crushes can grow into love. Especially when they stay in touch over the years (through Kiba).

*But why would Hana like Shino?
That’s a different case. I do not approve of adults being in love with children, but Shino won’t remain child forever!

Both have animal partners and they will understand, respect and support each other in that. Especially since Hana is a vet. She works with animals all the time.
Hana will also respect Shino for protecting and being a friend to Kiba in all those years.

As opposed to her family, Hana is said to be calm. So I can see her going for someone quiet like Shino. As being the calm and steady one in her loud family, I think it’s good for her to have someone to come at ease at. But at the same time can deal with her tempers, without shying away from her.

The databook also states that Hana researches greatly and that Shino loves ecology research, so they can do research together.

*But what about other Hana-pairings?
As I said before, we know just a little about Hana, so we can only assume. I also like HanaUchiha pairings! (Shisui/Itachi) But they're no longer in Konoha So yeah... Hana could have other boyfriends before dating Shino, that's okay with me.

*Kiba would never agree!
Uhm, Kiba wouldn’t be happy in the beginning indeed. He would probably feel betrayed, but he will accept it when he sees they are happy together. He wants the best for both.  

*Next up some name-stuff
Kishimoto named Shino after Inuzuka Shino from the Hakkenden, a samurai from an old story. That’s right, Inuzuka; Hana’s family-name ^__^
And of course there is also the bug/flower argument. Even though Hana is named "nose", her name also means flower. And it's like roterritter wrote in a ShinoHana fic: “The bee has no choice but to be drawn to the flower.”

Of course this pairing is still crack, I’m aware of that, but the pairing does make sense! And I hope I made that (more) clear in this post.
